Description
D’Addario Clarity Hypoallergenic Rosin
D’Addario Clarity Hypoallergenic rosin is a next-gen synthetic rosin compound that goes on as clear as the sound it produces. The Clarity formula contains hypoallergenic ingredients while delivering the same performance as pine rosins.
Regular Rosin, also known as colophony, is derived from the sap or sticky substance that comes from pine and spruce trees. Its stickiness lends itself perfectly to the role of gripping and vibrating the strings. However, some players are allergic to regular rosin! Reactions to contact with rosin in an allergic individual include acute allergic contact dermatitis and difficulty breathing. In allergic contact dermatitis, dermatitis tends to occur 1-3 days after contact with rosin, although occasionally reactions can appear within 24 hours or even more than a week after exposure.
D’Addario Clarity Hypoallergenic rosin ensures that players can get all the tone, with no allergy issues!

COMMON ROSIN QUESTIONS:
WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF ROSIN, AND WHICH SHOULD I USE?
Players of lower instruments generally prefer softer rosin, requiring more stickiness to move their thicker strings. Players of violin and viola may prefer harder rosin for faster bow speeds and ease of bow response.
Dark rosin is usually slightly softer. However, one should not choose rosin solely on the basis of color since soft and hard rosin can be made in any color.
NOTE: Most players use too much rosin on their bow hair and rosin too often, resulting in a rough, gritty sound, and rosin build-up on their instruments. You can avoid this by applying only a small amount of rosin (3-4 swipes) at the beginning of every playing session. Wipe down your instrument and strings at the end of every playing session to avoid rosin build-up.
