Epiphone Les Paul Standard 50s Electric Guitar
Featuring ProBucker humbuckers, the Epiphone Les Paul Standard 50s Electric Guitar models are part of Epiphone’s new Inspired by Gibson Collection and recreate the sound of 1950s era Les Pauls. Featuring a classic Mahogany Body with a Maple cap and Mahogany neck with long neck tenon. Powered by ProBucker humbuckers with 50s style wiring and CTS electronics. Epiphone’s long friendship with Mr. Les Paul began in 1940 when Les built one of the world’s first solid body electric guitars while working nights at the original Epiphone factory in Manhattan. Les’ first solidbody guitar, nicknamed “the Log”, would go on to inspire the Les Paul Standard, what many consider the greatest electric guitar ever made.
ProBucker™ Humbucking Pickups
The classic “P.A.F” sound is closer than you think.
Epiphone’s ProBucker™ humbucker has become one of the most talked-about pickups in the industry. It has impressed experts, vintage purists, and luthiers who have worked with the best vintage examples. These pickups deliver exceptional performance. They use 18% Nickel Silver for the unit bases and covers. Gibson used the same alloy at the Kalamazoo factory when it first invented the humbucker. The Nickel Silver reduces eddy currents, offering a more transparent and crisp output. The size and shape of the bobbins directly impact tonal response. ProBucker™ pickups duplicate the size and shape of Gibson humbuckers. They feature sand-cast Alnico II magnets and high-quality 4-conductor lead wire. The pickups undergo vacuum wax potting to eliminate microphonics.
